MEGAN MILOTMeet Megan, the owner of Zakia's Paws Shoppe, who brings 17 years of grooming experience and a lifelong passion for animals to her work. Her journey began in childhood with her first dog and led her to start her grooming career in Toronto in 2007. After successfully running a grooming business in Campbell River, Megan relocated to the mainland to open Zakia’s Paws Shoppe, where she continues to offer dedicated pet care. Outside of grooming, Megan enjoys crafting, gardening, and spending time with her family, which includes two dogs and four cats.

ALLYN DUCHARMEAllyn's lifelong passion for animals took a new direction after her first dog, Scamp, who had a difficult grooming experience, found healing at Zakia’s Paws Shoppe. Inspired by this positive change and Scamp's impact on her life, Allyn transitioned from a career in sales to working with animals. She started with dog walking and pet sitting before becoming certified in pet grooming and canine first aid in March 2024. Now, Allyn is dedicated to providing the same compassionate grooming care at Zakia’s Paws Shoppe and offers dog walking services through beautiful local trails. Her work is driven by a deep love for animals and the memory of Scamp.

ALANA LOCKEAlana, our bather and assistant for anesthesia-free teeth cleaning, has a deep-rooted passion for pets, influenced by growing up with her mom, a veterinarian. Her love for animals has been a constant throughout her life. Alana is currently the proud owner of a 15-year-old Poodle mix named Max. In addition to her work at the shop, she offers pet sitting services, ensuring that your furry friends receive care and attention even when you’re away.
